RIP Purple Lotus!
Purple lotus is dead! Please observe a minute of silence for the sudden death of vegan yum-cha in Sydney. With both Purple Lotus and Pitt-Street Vegetarian closing down within 4 weeks of each other it is a sad day for veganism in this city. Green Gourmet in Newtown is now the remaining oasis for yum-cha, however unlike the aforementioned deceased Green Gourmet is weekend only and overpriced.
That’s awful news. I was reeling at the closure of Pitt Street, but can’t believe that Purple Lotus is gone as well. Esp. on top of Celestial Palace and Vegal Kitchen closing last year. Times must be tough for veg places.
